Lalheue

Located 5 km west of Sennecey-le-Grand, Lalheue and its hamlet le Buisson Roncin are traversed by the river Grosne, and the Grison stream which marks the boundary of the commune and is greatly appreciated by anglers.

This pretty village dotted with stone houses includes :

An impressive 15th century mill,

A completely restored wash house,

A 12th century church in the centre of the village. When the church bell was destroyed by lightening it was replaced in 1930 by an electric clock, named ‘oak voice’ because it was financed by the sale of local oak.

A stone bridge over the Grosne, also called the ‘white bridge’ was built in 1784 and designed by Emiland GUTHEY, a famous local architect. It has become a favourite setting to hold events (flea markets, walks and fetes etc.).
